Was that Maureen McCauley author of "Falling out of the Boat"? I loved the book and have blown off the rest of my obligations to read it, (mind you it is raining and the wind is blowing stink so I am on the ERG today anyway) I love the book for lots of reasons but mostly the line , rowing "connects my body and soul to the the universe". which is the best rowing quote since George Pocock. That line resonates with my own sculling more than anything I have read.

great video, but alot of the rowers seem to be squaring and feathering with their outside hand? ive always been told not to do this but idk

yes, I've been told not to do this as it supposedly shortens the drive through your outside hand (where most of your drive passes through) as you are using it to feather. supposedly also reduces the control you have over the blade during the feathering motion
